The Process

I wanted this poster to convey the hardships and horrors that the citizens of North Korea face on a day to day basis. So, I began my design process by researching and compiling a long list of the different oppressions inflicted on the people of North Korea by their government. Using a brush and ink, I chaotically scratched out these words and phrases on to paper. Then I used charcoal to draw a weathered, elderly face, and a pair of wrinkled, old hands. To create the final composition, I scanned my drawings and collaged the different pieces in Photoshop.
